Hello again and welcome to our blog, dear friends! We are very pleased to tell you more about the most significant social causes in the United States, and what you can do about them by volunteering.
You might be wondering why we decided to create this blog, so we will use this space to tell you exactly that. We will also tell you a little bit more about us, so we become something more than anonymous bloggers on the Internet.
Who Are We
We should probably start this story by telling you how we all became volunteers, because after all, that’s what the blog discusses. We are a couple and we weren’t particularly active in the political or social life of our country. We thought that these things don’t concern us and that we can simply live our life without a care.
This all changed in the past few years due to multiple factors.
First of all, we got to know what climate change actually is and we found out that our time to act is limited. That made us donate to various charities that fight climate change. We also tried to minimise our carbon footprint, which inspired our loved ones to do the same. Change always begins at home.
Our country became more divided than ever (except maybe for the Civil War), and while this is a bad thing, both of our major political parties shed the light on some significant social causes that were crippling the nation. Namely, crime, discrimination, election integrity, voting rights, bodily autonomy and many more.
The last decade of division is what made us volunteers. We do want our nation to heal and come together, and we believe this is possible through the power of volunteering.
We have since volunteered to count votes in one midterm election, we have also volunteered in soup kitchens and animal shelters. In the meantime, we donate a portion of our salaries each month to a cause close to our hearts.
About the Blog
Most of the articles on this blog will concentrate on a single social cause and what can be done to help. We will promote charities with impeccable reputation; you can donate to them or try to volunteer if you have the time. We will also dedicate some articles to volunteering itself to give you some more insight as to what being a volunteer is.
Thank You
We hope we can foster a safe environment where everyone’s voice is heard in this blog, and we know this is only possible with your involvement and ideas. Feel free to drop us a message to tell us how we can improve our blog and what to include in our future articles.
Thank you for supporting us and thank you for being the awesome person that you are!
